How refunds work for donations on Pageraise

Need a refund on a donation? Learn how refunds work on Pageraise, who handles them, how to request a refund, and what happens to fees afterward.

Updated October 15, 2026

Refunds on Pageraise are handled by our team case by case, for example for a duplicate donation, a mistake, or fraud. To request a refund, ask Paige, our assistant, to bring in someone from the team so a person can review it.

We know asking for money back can feel awkward. It's okay. Mistakes happen, and we're here to sort them out fairly.

Who handles refunds

A person on the Pageraise team reviews every refund request. Creators can't issue refunds themselves from the dashboard, so even if you're a creator who wants to return a donation, the request comes to us.

We look at each case individually. Common reasons we review include:

  • A duplicate donation (you accidentally gave twice)
  • A mistake, like the wrong amount or the wrong fundraise
  • Fraud, such as a card used without the owner's permission

How to request a refund

  1. Sign in to your Pageraise account.
  2. Click the Help button in the corner of the screen to open Paige, our assistant.
  3. Explain what happened and ask Paige to bring in someone from the team.
  4. A person on our team will review your request.

It helps to include which fundraise the donation went to, roughly when you gave, and why you're asking for a refund. If you're signed in, you can find your past donations in My Donations.

Gave without an account?

No problem. Send us a message through the contact form with the fundraise, the date, the amount, and the email address you used at checkout. Someone from the team will review it the same way.

What happens when a refund is issued

When a refund is issued:

  • The donation shows as Refunded.
  • The fundraise total goes down by that amount.
  • Stripe's processing fee is not returned.

That last point matters for creators. Stripe charges a processing fee of about 2.9% plus $0.30 on each donation, and on a refund Stripe does not return it. Our fees and tips guide explains how fees work in more detail.

For creators: refunds and your contributions

If a donation to your fundraise is refunded, you'll see it marked as Refunded on your Contributions page, and your fundraise total will drop to match. If you have questions about how a refund affects your money, our guide on how payouts work is a good place to start, and Paige can check your live Stripe balance and recent payouts for you.

If a supporter asks you directly for their money back, point them to Paige so our team can take a look.

Monthly donations and refunds

If you want to stop a monthly donation, you can cancel it yourself any time from My Donations. Canceling stops future charges, and the donation stays active until the end of the current paid month. There are no partial refunds for the current month. See monthly donations for the full details.

A failed payment doesn't need a refund

If your payment failed, or you closed the payment window before paying, you weren't charged, so there's nothing to refund. Our guide on why a payment fails explains more.
